Season of Change

With the end of the 2017 academic year, the David lab said a fond farewell to several members as they graduated and hello to a few new shining faces.
Apsen Reese became Dr. Reese as she finished her PhD in the University Program in Ecology. Beginning in July 2017, she will start as a Junior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows where she will continue to do research into the ecological dynamics of host-microbe interactions and their impact on ecosystem level patterns and processes.
Several undergrads also graduated from the lab, Sai Nimmagadda, Anchi Wu, and Lionel Watkins. All three were with us for several years and will be sorely missed. We wish them all the best as they continue on their journeys.
Shortly after graduation, we were happy to welcome Zachary Holmes as a new PhD student in the lab. Zach hails from Georgia and will be looking to research new ways to engineer community structure in the human microbiome to achieve a desired ecosystem service.
The David lab will also be welcoming a research technician in early July.
