Ammara

I am a student in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology Ph.D. program and joined the David lab in 2021. Originally from Pakistan, I did my undergraduate at Duke University, graduating with a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biology as well as a Certificate in Science and Society.

My undergraduate research focused on the development of novel approaches to combat microbial antibiotic resistance and high-throughput quantification of mixed microbial communities using next generation sequencing. Now at the David lab, I am excited to learn more about and explore the nexus between human health and disease and the microbiome.

Outside of science, I love drawing and painting, taking long walks in nature to relax, and hanging out with friends and family!
